Lot’s Wife Turned Into A Pillar Of Salt

The people of Sodom and Gomorrah had become exceedingly wicked, and God decided to destroy the cities because of their great wickedness.

But God remembered Abraham and showed mercy to Lot and his family by sending angels to rescue them before the destruction.

The angels warned Lot to take his wife and his two daughters and flee the city. They were given a clear instruction: escape for your lives and do not look back.

As the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot and his family to hurry. They took them by the hand and led them out of the city, telling them to flee to the mountains so they would not be swept away by the destruction.

Lot and his family escaped, and God began raining burning sulfur and fire upon Sodom and Gomorrah, destroying the cities and everything that lived there.

But as they fled, something tragic happened.

Lot’s wife looked back.

Despite the warning she had received, she turned around to look at the destruction behind her. And she became a pillar of salt.

She had been brought out of the city to safety, but she disobeyed God’s instruction and suffered the consequence.

Her story became a lasting warning about the danger of disobedience and the importance of moving forward when God calls us to leave something behind.
