They would confine a person within a wall with no exit, a practice known as live entombment. This form of imprisonment often lasted until death. The space was so tight that the individual would not be able to sit or stand properly, resulting in intense pain and agony. Sometimes, food would be delivered through small holes to keep the person alive, thus prolonging their suffering. Most of the victims died slowly, completely isolated, enduring misery until the very end.
