While this company is loved by many, it has certainly faced some pushback over the years. A couple of years ago, when they opened a store in Denton, near Dallas, the entire community staged an uprising against Bucky’s. Their main concern was that they didn’t want the store to open right in the city. It’s worth noting that a place like Bucky’s would thrive perfectly well in more rural areas along an interstate or freeway. However, the challenge lies in staffing such a large operation, which requires hundreds of employees at any given time. These staffing numbers are not feasible to manage in remote locations. To operate effectively, you need to be in a more concentrated area, typically near a city with a substantial population, particularly of high school and college students. If I’m hiring 150 to 200 employees, it’s essential to have a significant population base to support that workforce.
